Review & Build
This is the final step where you can review your design before creating the simulation model.
- Color Bar: A scaled diagram of your catheter design, with the proximal end on the left and the distal tip on the right. A black line indicates the pull-wire termination point.
- Configuration Summary: Review all entered parameters before building the model, laid out as cards across the width of the window. Click the "Edit" link next to any item to return to that step and make changes; the per-section laminate cards take you to that section's Construction page.
- Peel-away Illustrations: The illustrations are created parametrically for each section and accurately reflect the scale and composition. Pull-wire lumens are cut through the stack at their per-section dimensions, polymer lumen liners appear as white sleeves, a closed-coil liner is drawn as a true helix in gray metal where it emerges from the pull-wire layer (with any polymer jacket stepped back halfway along the exposed run so the coil shows), and, when the wire cross-section is specified, each pull wire renders in dark gray metal, emerging from its lumen at the distal end. To copy the illustration for sharing, right-click and select Copy.
- Issues: When a step has flagged something that does not fit (a pull wire too large for the geometry, a layer stack that overflows the radius, a lumen smaller than its wire), the problems are listed at the top of the summary card, each with a Go to Problem button that opens the page it lives on. The list is empty and hidden for a design with nothing to fix.
- Save Config to File: Saves the current catheter design to a file. This allows you to reload the design later or share it with colleagues. This function is also available from the main menu via File > Save Config. A saved file never remembers which values were still following the diameter: a design you load back is entirely yours.
- Build Model: Click this button to generate the simulation. VirtuCath builds the physics model from your inputs and lands on Catheter Analysis, where the design's computed properties are. Building also unlocks the deeper-analysis and fabrication tabs. If the Issues list is not empty, Build first asks: Go to Problem (the default), Build Anyway, or Cancel. Building also fixes every value that was still following the diameter, so the design you built is the design you keep. Every successful build is also recorded in your local build history, so you can reopen it later from File > Open Recent even if you never saved it to a file.
JSON schema reference: The catheter
.jsonfile follows a versioned schema you can introspect at runtime via the CLI API'sexport_schemacommand. This is the canonical reference for the file format and is the best entry point for scripting or AI-agent workflows.
